The record, produced by Micha Volders and mixed by Bert Libeert, is their first major release since their EP \u2018Endless Party\u2019 in 2015.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"en-US\">&#8216;Image&#8217; takes a giant leap forward from Whispering Sons&#8217; previous work. Together with producer Micha Volders (<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><em>Meteor Musik, El Guapo Stuntteam\u00a0<\/em><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and overall synthesizer wizard) and engineer\/co-producer Bert Vliegen (<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><em>Teen Creeps, Sophia<\/em><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">), the band used the studio as a means to broaden their sound, enriching it with acoustic drums and a whole range of synthesizers. The ten tracks, recorded over a period of ten days at GAM Studios in Waimes (BE), evoke an atmosphere both ominous and urging, yet at the same time capture the band&#8217;s agitated live intensity. The record was mixed by Bert Libeert (<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><em>Goose, B<\/em><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">) at Jetson Studio and mastered by Frederik Dejongh at Jerboa Mastering.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"1170\" height=\"659\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/say8WTwVmJ8?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=it-IT&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The songs on the album were written after the band collectively moved to Brussels in 2016. In between periods of intense touring, they worked hard to translate their new perspectives into their first full album. Feeding on the dynamics of the city, the tracks unveil feelings of alienation and distance. &#8216;Image&#8217; is a motionless state, in which observations overshadow actions. It reflects the artificiality of things, yet still desperately clings on to ideals and obsessions, something which is also strengthened by the cover artwork of Flor Maesen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Prior to &#8216;Image&#8217;, Whispering Sons had released the EP<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><strong>\u00a0&#8216;Endless Party&#8217;<\/strong><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0(2015, Wool-E Tapes; 2016, Minimal Maximal) and the 7 inches\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><strong>&#8216;Performance\/Strange Identities&#8217;<\/strong><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0(2016) and\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><strong>&#8216;White Noise&#8217;<\/strong><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0(2017) (Weyrd Son Records). In 2016, the band won Humo&#8217;s Rock Rally, one of Belgium&#8217;s most prestigious national contests that boosted the career of upcoming artists such as dEUS, halfway through the nineties.
