‘The Weight Of The Sun’<\/em><\/strong> sees principal songwriters Emily Scott and Rob St John further their warm, esoteric field studies with Pete Harvey and Joe Smillie, as previously reconnoitered on Swell To Great <\/em>(2016) and Welcome Strangers <\/em>(2018). Largely recorded at Harvey\u2019s home-run studio Pumpkinfield<\/em> in rural Perthshire, this third outing makes for a glorious compendium of haunted disco hallelujahs (\u2018Spaces\u2019); mercurial krautrock chorales (\u2018Heavy Water\u2019); cosmic pop adagios (\u2018Corridors\u2019; \u2018Back to the City\u2019) and euphoric, resilient, anthems (\u2018The Blue of Distance\u2019).<\/p>\n

There is a strange familiarity, and a welcome strangeness, in the quiet alchemy of Modern Studies.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Weight Of The Sun\u2019 <\/strong><\/em>will be released on 8th May via Fire Records<\/strong> on\u00a0limited edition deluxe Dinked\u00a0‘Sunburst Splatter’ vinyl, LP and CD.<\/p>\n
