The authors, inspired by the movie “Alpha Tau!” shot by Francesco De Robertis in 1942 wrote and recorded a full album and “used it” as if it were, rather than the soundtrack, a musical tale of the movie. The movie is available for the first time on DVD, which was presented at the Venice Film Festival in 1989. The film, directed by Vittorio Giacci and Filippo Mileto, was produced by the adopted son of Roberto Rossellini, Gil Rossellini, also as a musician on the album. Let’s underline the importance of the special effects created for the movie by Oscar Award winner Carlo Rambaldi. Last but not least, this album is recorded with HOLOPHONIC SYSTEM, or “tri-dimensional music”, also used by Pink Floyd in “The Final Cut”.
The remastering work by Gianrico LaRosa, the original sound engineer of the album, has further enhanced an incredible job. This version, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the event, is enriched with two bonus tracks, which appeared only on 7 “in 1988.

Musicians: Massimo Altomare – Lead Vocals (member of LOY & ALTOMARE) Gaio Chiocchio – Keyboards (member of PIERROT LUNAIRE) Vittorio Giacci – Drums Percussions (member of I MESSAGGERI) Gil Rossellini – Bass Mandolin Sitar Harmonica Ambra Soffici – Female Lead Vocals Pericle Sponsilli – Acoustic and electric guitars (member of FHOLKS and REALE ACCADEMIA DI MUSICA)

“Il Poliedro di Leonardo” era un ambizioso progetto multimediale diviso tra musica e cinema che gli EFFETTO NOTTE hanno realizzato nel 1989.
