Native American Death Metal force DETHGOD emerged from Morley, Alberta in 2012 under the moniker AFTERDEATH. Since 2013, they are functioning as DETHGOD. Initially their music was comprised of both melodic and brutal death metal elements and very soon they embraced a more technical approach as the members started to grow as a musician. Their current music style has outreached to a more ferocious and much darker sonic hellscape. They are a three-piece band as of 2018.
Apart from performing at Loud As Hell Festival, Lethbridge Dethfest, Lethbridge Zombiefest and Black Mourning Light Metal Festival, DETHGOD has already shared stages with Skeletonwitch, Dallas Toler-Wade’s Narcotic Wasteland, Septicflesh, Moonspell, Deathstars, etc. They have twice secured the second position at Wacken Metal Battle as the finalist, first in 2015 for the entire Alberta state and later in 2018 for the Calgary city.
“’Disease Called Humans” is the debut EP of the trio, set for release on October 25, 2018. A CD release show, supported by deathgrinders Path to Extinction and technical death metallers Widow’s Peak, is to take place on the same day, Throughout the four tracks, this EP offers enormously punishing guitar riffs, repeated thundering of the drums, the pounding bass rumbles, and the deep roaring vocals. Behold the bloodthirstiness of DETHGOD!
