Nicholas Merz will release his second album “God Won’t Save You, But I will” on May 29, 2020 via Aagoo Records in CD/LP and all Digital Formats. He has just released recently a music video directed by Michael T Workman for his song “Drifting Palomino“.
“This stunning music video for ‘Palomino’ follows a downtrodden, urban cowboy being pushed and pulled throughout the streets of what looks like modern Los Angeles” Merz says.
The single conjures avant guard poeticism of Nick Cave, angular guitar work of Television, Parquet Courts and rolling shakers, percussion and rhythm of the new wave of brooding western gothic rock that’s sweeping the underground in the form of Orville Peck, Bambara and others.
Growing up in a small town, Nicholas Merz had to use his imagination to think outside the forest, mountains, drugs, and trappings of a rural place.
