Amidst their recent winnings of Rockwired Magazine’s (US) “Best Band” and “Album of the Year” awards following the publication’s Annual Readers’ Poll at the beginning of the month, Corners of Sanctuary (COS) have released a short video trailer showcasing their new, upcoming single “Children of the Night.” The promo is available for viewing on the band’s official Facebook page.
“We owe this one to the fans,” said COS bassist James Pera about being named in the Rockwired Magazine Readers’ Poll Awards. “Without their support it would have never happened,” he continued.
COS’ latest stand alone track, which includes an instrumental introduction titled “Beware,” was once again mastered by LA producer Bill Metoyer (Slayer, Armored Saint, Fates Warning). Bill had worked with the band on their highly acclaimed 2018 “The Galloping Hordes” album as well as several other releases last year. “Children of the Night” also features New Jersey native Ryan Michael on lead vocals. Michael will also be joining the band on their upcoming live performances, with the first show on March 2nd in Philadelphia. Additional studio work with Michael is currently in the works.
The new single will officially release in March and will be accompanied with a music video.
Corners of Sanctuary will be appearing with singer Janet Gardner, formerly of Vixen in late March, with former Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley in April, and will also be performing at the Finger Lakes Metal Fest in New York in May. The band is already making plans to head out on another West Coast tour in September; this time making their rounds at the legendary Whiskey A Go-Go to support the Iron Maidens among other dates.
“We are really looking forward to our upcoming shows,” said COS guitarist Mick Michaels. “It’s been a couple of months since we last played live, so we are ready to go… We’ve been working on a new album… our goal this year is to focus heavily on that…so we plan to do a lesser number of live shows but ones with a little more of a punch to them.” he added.
The band looks to have a new album ready and released in early 2020.
