Renowned Chicago-based dance-pop/soul singer-songwriter Ava Cherry has been hotting up the dancefloor with her on-fire music for five decades, working with legends that include David Bowie, Curtis Mayfield, and Luther Vandross.
Cherry has released several solo albums throughout her career, and now she’s signed to record label Wake Up! Music with plans to release a new full-length of exciting and tuneful nu pop/soul numbers in the coming months.
Ahead of that record Cherry has unveiled her triumphant dance-pop tune “Testify Love” with an accompanying video that matches the feel-good mood of the song.
In this time of disquiet and stress, it’s especially gladdening to hear Cherry’s message of perseverance and survival. The video showcases Cherry giving it her all in a captivating performance on stage, and also footage of her singing joyfully in the middle of the city.
