Young Italian Hesanobody shares new single ‘Roadblock’.
Born and bred in Southern Italy’s Reggio Calabria, but having recently established himself in Milan, this summer Gaetano Chirico found himself back amongst the ever-growing Calabrian music scene writing music and considering the possibility of “living the life you always wanted, without any outside interferences”. What resulted is a track which starts out as a melancholic plea set to a synth-pop backdrop which eventually gives way to an introspective and powerful pop tune, as well as a soaring ode to freedom.
Speaking of the song he goes on to explain: “The song isn’t specific to a time or place, but the destination we are driving towards is liberty and a wish of a better life”.
The climax of ‘The engine is on and we don’t care / or do we care?’ finally suggesting a hope that he will one day get there, no matter life’s obstacles.
Roadblock is out on Street Mission (distributed by [PIAS]) on October 20th and is taken from Hesanobody’s forthcoming new EP coming early next year.
