Ukranian former cage-fighter, producer, DJ and co-owner of Absence Seizure returns to her seemingly eternal series with Seizure No.13 EP – a beautiful and deep release with angelic vocals from Brooklyn based singer, Sophie Buskin.
The 4 tracks on the EP combine all the idyllic elements of deep and melodic house. Twisting your mind to enjoy a much more scintillating experience, Matuss even manages to introduce the effects of lo-fi into this EP – infusing the journey of each tune with a raw and authentic existence. The stand out tracks of the EP nod towards her Ukranian routes and influences, which are very much present in the second track of the EP, Mer De Soleil; a track of curiosity with an outstanding combination of synths and string instruments to give it that light-hearted, majestic summer vibe. The Solicitors Are Welcome Feat. Sophie Buskin remix – by Silent Surrender – is a beautiful mastering of all three artists’ capabilities. The progressive beats and twinkly melody, combined with the sensual vocals from Buskin herself, is a whole 5 minutes and 50 seconds of addictive pleasure.
Releasing on Absence Seizure, a label known as a home for Matuss‘ mesmerizing minimal house beats, this release shows once more that the Ukranian knows exactly how to capture any audience with her progressive tunes and soulful melodies.
