The psych duo from Leipzig CAMEL MOON releases the video to their dreamy melancholic single ‘The world doesn’t need you anyway‘, co-produced by Hákon Aðalsteinsson (The Brian Jonestown Massacre/ The Third Sound)
Camel Moon is the project of Yannick Siegler and Alexandra Staszewski, who are inspired by bands like The Doors, Velvet Underground and Mazzy Star, as well as folk music, blues and traditional chanting.
The desire for a common musical expression got them to self release their first EP ‘Sweet and Devine’ in 2018. The two of them compose and produce their songs by themselves at home or in their rehearsal space.
Now Camel Moon are releasing the video to their new single ‘The world doesn’t need you anyway’, which was made by Yannik and Alexandra themselves during lockdown and filmed in an old bowling alley.
The song itself was co-produced by Hákon Aðalsteinsson (The Brian Jonestown Massacre/ The Third Sound) and released on Anomic Records. Melancholic chanting, kettledrums and bass are forming a dramatic sad song that is simultaneously filled with suppressed anger. With their music they create diverse emotions like sadness, nostalgia and love.
A lot of the instrumental and voice recordings were pure improvisations for the sake of keeping the natural organic character.
“We dedicate this song to all those, who exercise power over others; to those who only believe in their own truth and put themselves above others. The world doesn’t need you anyway.” -Camel Moon.
