Canadian/Irish Keith Mosfet is the definoition of an ‘artist’. Using inspiration from impressionist oil paintings and combining his background in electronic engineering.
Keith took on the challenge of writing, recording and mixing the whole of his 2019 album ‘Superficial Hypocrite’, his 2020 EP ‘Breathe’ and is now his new EP ‘EP3’
“I’d have my vision, listen to the song and make changes in my head, record in layers, listen, then record and mix ideas on top. Layering like in oil painting.”
On his newest 2020 single ‘Now Your Life’s Gone’, Keith was inspired by a close friend joining an anarchist group and potentially ruining her life. “After high school we drifted apart, but were always still close. I watched her begin to slip away after being manipulated by the leader of a cult like anarchist group in Hamilton Ontario.
She later joined them to destroy a block of small businesses in protest to large corporations. While ironically leaving Starbucks alone.”
Keith was lyrically driven by these events and the life choices of his close friend who then went to prison and fell to hard drugs.
Clearly heard in Keith’s new single are his influences, such as Beck, MGMT, Black Keys, Foster The People and Jack White but with his own unique, psychedelic twist, using vocal effects and an interesting synthesizer line showcasing his pursuit of artistry.
